My name is Lisa Whalen.  I am a graduate of Grand Valley State University. I have a Master’s in Reading from Eastern Michigan and I am a certified Reading Specialist. I also hold a second Master’s in TESOL from Western Michigan and I am ESL certified.

I’ve been teaching at Miller since 2017 and have worked as a Reading Intervention Teacher with the 2nd and 3rd grades.  Before I came to Miller I taught 3rd grade in another district. I also have experience teaching 1st, 4th, and 5th grades. This year I am excited to be teaching third grade once again! I love 3rd graders!

I am married with two children. When I’m not teaching I like to spend time with my family, they make me laugh. I also like to read, exercise, and make crafts.
