As some of you may know, we have been awarded with a Garden Grant!  The grant includes nutrition sessions for our students, PE activities, and an actual garden where students take part in growing and maintaining crops.  It will be located in the back of the building in the fenced off area where the turtle currently is.

We are forming a garden committee and we need 3-4 responsible and reliable parents that we can count on to be part of this committee.    Ideally, parents on the committee should be spread across grade levels so that no more than 1 or 2 parents “graduate out” of the committee at the same time.   So we are looking to elementary grade teachers to help us find the 3-4 parents or middle school teachers who know that their students have younger siblings.  We will have one action day for planting where the gardening staff will need some help-it’s put into place to create a sense of ownership and to also have those 3-4 parents do a check-in on the garden throughout this year and years to come.  It does not require a lot of time.
