Work to expect
Much of the work will be in our Ready Math practice and workbook, and some google classroom assignments. Ready Math Common Core textbooks and workbooks will be used throughout the school year. Expect some degree of homework each night (no more than 30 minutes).
***KHAN ACADEMY will also be assigned as homework, about 1 hour per week. Please notify me if your student does not have internet access at home for this assignment
Late, incomplete or incorrect assignments and Exam Retakes:
It is a school, and my expectation that all assignments be handed in on the determined due date. Homework can be turned in immediately after class if forgotten in the lockers.
Homework will be checked in daily, if your student could not complete homework for that night (I know that circumstances do happen, please let me know) they have until the next day to turn it in for partial credit. Other than that late work will NOT be accepted. Obviously, circumstances do happen and can be discussed with me at that time.
Exam retakes will be done as follows:
-Student must correct the problems done incorrectly
– Student must also explain why they got those problems wrong
*if these requirements are met their grade will be adjusted accordingly*
Exam corrections are only accepted within 1 week from the original testing date.
Cheating
If a student is caught cheating the test will be taken from them at that time. They will have to come in after school to restart and complete the test. They will only be able to receive a 75% at MOST.
Cheating will not be tolerated.
Discipline Plan
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Support. It is a program designed to teach respect, responsibility, and safety at our school. The PBIS Matrix is a guide to help us remember what consequences we will receive for faulty behavior.
Assessments: Students will receive both formative and summative assessments.
- Gradebook categories:–Summative (Unit tests and Lesson Quizzes)
–Assessments (S.L.O.T. Quizzes, Stations work, large assignments such as projects and group work)
– Khan (Khan Academy requirements)
– Formative (Homework, bell work, T.O.D)
Students will not receive credit for homework and classwork until it is completed correctly

Ready Common Core Math
We will be using an interactive textbook and workbook. This is a textbook that student will be able to write in and show all of their work in. These books are a requirement for class DAILY. If a book is lost, it is your responsibility to replace it. These books are used throughout the school year and are a necessity for the students.
PARENTS AND STUDENTS:
I will be using REMIND and iBlog to keep parents and students notified about daily assignments and upcoming events. Remind is a text messaging system that will allow me to send out a text to students and parents reminding them of homework assignments. There are no phone numbers seen through this app. I encourage parents to sign up in order to get reminders on assignments and upcoming tests.
