Smith TRACK team 2020

0

Hello Vikings!

Coach Wellman here. As I was going through one of our track team workouts, I had thought.  Just because we are going through this trying time and are stuck at home, doesn’t mean that we can keep up with our fitness! So, I created a Track Google Classroom page for you all. One this page you will find a 6 week @home workout schedule. Many of these workouts you would have seen throughout the track season at some point.
This page will allow you to communicate directly with me as you go through the workout. Share your successes, your struggles, ask questions and motivate each other to keep up with it!
If you go out for a run or walk please notify and get permission from parents. OR TAKE THEM WITH YOU!!

I will be monitoring and adding in my own motivation. IF any abuses this or posts unwanted comments, you will be immediately removed from the group and Admin and Parents will be notified.

We are all on the same team and in this together Let’s help push each other to be our best and help each other through it!

If you have any questions please email me at  wellmaa@dearbornschools.org

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!    JOIN NOW     class code :   vyqutz4   (must use school email to join, if not you will be removed)

Meal Distribution @ SMITH!!

0

Dearborn Schools has announced that O.L. Smith will be added as a student meal distribution site starting on Monday, March 23.

Students, parents or a family representative can stop by any of meal locations from 10 a.m. to noon each week day to pick up meals.  One bag will be handed out for each child under 18 in the home.  The Dearborn School student does not need to attend school at that building.  Students do not need to be present, and a designated person can pick up meals for all the children in the family.
The free grab-and-go meals include food for lunch and breakfast.  Meals for Saturday and Sunday can be picked up on Friday.
Six other food sites opened on Tuesday, including Fordson, Edsel Ford and Dearborn high schools; McCollough-Unis; Salina Intermediate; and Woodworth Middle School.
Signage at each site will direct parents and students to where to enter the building.  Food will be near entrances, usually near the kitchen, to minimize the amount of time community members spend in the facilities.

The grab-and-go meals will be served at least through April 3.

We will be distributing on the Notre Dame side of the building – drive through style – outside of door 17.

Online Learning During School Closure

0

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are well in this unique situation we find ourselves in.  As with the district, we both just want everyone to remain healthy and safe.  We are going to be moving forward with our school year with an online learning platform.  This means that students are going to need internet access in order to do much of our lessons.  You should check our iBlog (http://iblog.dearbornschools.org/wellman1/  ), Google Classroom (codes are listed below), and emails at least once a week to see what updates and assignments we have.  As you all know by this point in the year, please let us know if you have limited or no technology access at home let us know however you can by emailing us (wellmaa@dearbornschools.org ).  I will work with you to make sure you are still getting the best education that we can provide.

I hope this helps set up or next several weeks and we will update and communicate everything we can when it becomes available.  We don’t want this to be a time of lost learning but a time experience learning in a different way. We are here for any of you, students and parents alike, to help in any way we can.  Stay healthy and keep working hard.

Sincerely,

Mr. Wellman
