Activities for Week of April 20th

Letter of the Week: Ss

Listen to the book about the letter S. Work on writing letter S with pencil and paper; you can look at the attached worksheets for examples or print them out if you’d like.  

Writing Activity:

I got a new puppy, we named her Abbie.  What kind of pet would you get? Draw a picture, color it and tell me what name you would give it.

Book:

Alphabet Mystery: listen to the book and then see if you can find all the letters A-Z in your house or even try writing each letter on paper with a pencil.

Math Activity:

Color Review: Identify colors you know, try and find something in your home for every color you know. Review attached color wheel and talk about putting colors together to make new colors (red+yellow=orange).

Fine Motor Activity:

Lacing/Threading: Stick a spaghetti noodle in a ball of play-doh, use cereal or noodles to lace/thread them onto the spaghetti noodle.  Make sure to use your dominate hand you write with, and use your pointer finger and thumb to pick up the cereal or noodle.

Gross Motor Activity:

Skating: Place your feet on two paper plates, move your legs back and forth as if you are skating.  Try to go in a straight line or make a circle. You can also play music along with this to make it a skating and singing party. We have done this in school in it was a blast!

Creative Activity:

Make a sun by coloring or painting a paper plate yellow, use scissors to cut triangles out of the edge of the plate. Add a face if you like and hang it in your bedroom for a little sunshine!
