Today we will have a little bit of fun cooking in the kitchen. We will make some play dough. The play dough can be used to form the letters of the alphabet or numbers. Then use the letters to make your sight words or spelling word. Practice making math equations. Ready to “cook”!

You will need:

• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 cup table salt
• 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
• 1 tablespoon oil
• 1 cup boiling water (adults should do this part)
• food coloring of you choice

Instructions:

1. In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Mix well.
2. Add the oil
3. Mix a few drops of food coloring into the boiling water (adults please do this part) and then add to the bowl.
4. Mix everything very well and massage with your hand until it is no longer sticky.
5. Once it has fully cooled, wrap in plastic and put in an airtight container. Store at room temperature for about 6 months.
