We’re rolling :)

We are rolling right along practicing routines and making great choices!  We stayed busy with our new math, NWEA testing, a teamwork challenge, and beginning to build stamina for read to self in Daily 5.  A huge thank you to our popsicle fairies for helping us to stay cool on those really hot days!!

Week 3 will bring more teamwork activities, our first spelling test, and the publishing of our first writing piece!

Monday:  students will take their first spelling test.  They should also return their red spelling notebook with 3 completed activities (pyramid words, 5x each, and across and down)

Thursday:  Open House 6-7:30 p.m.

Friday: 1/2 day of school, students will be dismissed at 11:45

2nd day of 2nd grade!

I’m missing a couple of my cuties who closed their eyes and I didn’t realize until after school.  I will retake tomorrow and add them to this post 🙂

Welcome to Room 24 :)

We had an excellent first day!!! I am soooo excited for this school year! Thank you for subscribing to our blog so quickly!  The blog, our planners, and the home folders will be your main sources of information.

Thank you so much for all of the classroom supplies and donations you sent in.  We spent some time organizing it all today. I did send a supply list home today, but if you still need it, I have attached it here:  supply list 2018

Please plan on joining me for a parent meeting on Wednesday at 4:00 OR 5:30.  This is an opportunity for me to go over what you can expect during the year and for you to ask questions about the classroom.

We did talk a little bit about snack options today.  Each student will need to bring their own snack to school if they want to have one.  Here is a peek at our brainstorm…

HaPpY SuMmEr!!!

Wow!  I cannot believe that summer is here!  I am already missing your kiddos – they are amazing 🙂  Thanks so much for being so helpful throughout the year.  I absolutely appreciate all the little things you did to help make our year successful!  First, a picture of our Students of the Month for May. Congrats to Khalil, Dede, Adriana, and Nora.  Then, a few smiles from today 🙂

TOMORROW!

Tomorrow is our last day.  Students will be dismissed at 11:45!  Just a few notes:

  • Yes! Please have your child bring their backpack
  • No!  Your child should not bring a snack.  Mrs. Gabrish is bringing in a treat for the class.
  • Report cards and 3rd grade supply lists will be coming home tomorrow 🙂

Picnic :)

We had a great time at our picnic today!  We ate, we ran, we played, and we were visited by the ice cream truck 🙂  Please feel free to send me any pictures you took and I will add them to this post.

PICNIC :)

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 12th is our class picnic from 11-1.  All students should bring a bag lunch.  They may also bring a towel or small blanket to sit on.  We have a surprise for the kids and are asking for a $1 or $2 donation to help cover the cost – if you can, please send that in.

Bowling!

Thanks sooooooo much to all of our parent drivers!  We had a blast 🙂
