Today for homework students brought home a worksheet with 2 sides. I told them that they could choose which side they wanted to do for homework! Just make sure they do 1 side tonight…
Today in their homework folder, students are bringing home some notes we took about plants. They should study these tonight so that they can explain what plants need (air, water, light, soil/minerals, space) and what plants make on their own (food).
BOOK IT! They also brought home a calendar to keep at home as a reading tracker. Every night they read at least 20 minutes, they should color the pumpkin for that day. On November 1, they can bring their calendars back to school – any student who has colored at least 15 pumpkins in October will receive a certificate for a free personal pizza from Pizza Hut and a small treat from me.
A newsletter went home today, here are some of the highlights:
No paper newsletter this week! Just a few notes:
That’s all for now…Have a great weekend!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! What a great night!! It was such a pleasure to see so many smiling faces and to be able to chat with so many of you! I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to visit our classroom 🙂
We had an assembly today to promote peace in Dearborn and across the world. Each student held a pinwheel they made in Art and we all sang a song about peace that students learned in Music. I wish I had remembered the camera!!!!!
Tomorrow night is Open House from 6:00-7:00 in the classrooms. At 7:00 p.m., Mr. Denison will hold a short meeting in the cafeteria. I can’t wait to see everyone 🙂
Well, with some great help, our classroom blog is finally up and running…YAY 🙂 I am excited for this opportunity to help keep you more connected to your child’s learning and daily classroom activity!!
