I cannot believe we don’t have school tomorrow! I am already missing your kiddos 🙂
I wanted to say Thank You for all of the generous end-of-the-year gifts you gave and for being so great all year – I am so grateful!
I found a few pics of field day so I wanted to share…
Have a great summer and Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!

next week…
- Monday is field day. We get to enjoy the activities in the morning, so please apply sunscreen to your child before they come to school. Also, please make sure your child has a water bottle that is labeled with their name.
- Science Quiz on Monday. I am attaching a picture of the review we did in class today.
and one with the answers…
- Last day of school is Thursday. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 🙂
Blanket/towel
After talking to the other second grade teachers, I am thinking that you may want to send your child a towel or blanket that they can sit on to eat lunch. I was told there are not enough picnic tables and with the rain the ground may still be wet…
confusion…
Sorry! There seems to be some confusion about the brownies and cookies…one person does not have to provide all the cookies (or all the brownies) for the whole second grade. I think the idea is that a few people would send in a dozen or two of one thing – then when it was all put together, we would have enough. So, if you are willing to donate cookies or brownies, just send in a dozen or two – hopefully, others will as well and then we will have enough 🙂
Plates are taken care of (thanks to Ali K’s mom)!!!
picnic and more…
- A note came home today about the picnic on Thursday. All students should bring a lunch that day. Also, our class has been assigned to provide the plates, cookies, and brownies to share with the whole 2nd grade. Please let me know if you can help with the donations.
- Everyone brought home a new book, along with the 5-activity sheet, to work on over the next week. All the activities are due on Monday, but students will check in with their “buddy” before that so please don’t wait until the last minute to get started.
- Field Day is next Monday – volunteers are needed. If you are willing and able, please fill out the form that came home today.
Coming up…
- Thursday, June 5th is our picnic from 11:30-1:30. We will be at the park next to school. Students will need to bring their lunch! The second grade room parents will be coordinating some treats and activities.
- Monday, June 9th is field day. We will be outside for much of the morning. Please make sure your child brings a water bottle with their name on it, and apply sunscreen before they leave the house.
- MAY READING CALENDARS are due on Monday. Students who have read at least 400 minutes in April and May (and turned in their calendars) will attend a pizza treat on June 10th.
- Last day of school is Thursday, June 12th. Students will be dismissed at 11:45.
- Tremendous THANKS to all the parents who have chaperoned our last two field trips 🙂
We are so lucky :)
Field Trip pictures…
Field trip tomorrow!!
Don’t forget tomorrow we are headed to the metropark for a pond study, hiking, and from what I have been told, there is also a barn with baby animals – can’t wait 🙂
Remember all students need a bag lunch and comfortable clothes/shoes!
If you are chaperoning please meet in the room about 8:50.
Classroom News…
- TOMORROW is the trip to the Dearborn Historical Museum. If you are a chaperone, please meet in the classroom around 8:50. Remember, you will need to drive yourself to the museum since there is not enough room on the bus. We will be back in time for students to eat lunch with their normal routine.
- No spelling words this week.
- Boy scouts picnic at Lindbergh is tonight at 6:00 if you are interested in joining their pack in the fall.
