• Our trip to Ford Lanes will be on Wednesday, June 6th. The permission slip came home today so that we can confirm chaperones.

• On Friday, June 8th we have an in-house science field trip through Hi-Touch Hi-Tech.  The cost for this will be $8.  A letter will come home closer to the date. No chaperones are needed for this since it takes place at school.

• NWEA testing will take place next week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

• Birthday Bash will be on Thursday afternoon from about 1:45-3:00.

• NO SCHOOL:  Friday 5/25 and Monday 5/28

• Our 2nd grade class picnic will be on Tuesday, June 12th from 11am – 1pm.

With Ramadan starting, I want to support whatever decision you have made for your child regarding fasting. If your child will be fasting, please send an email or write a note in their planner so that I know. 

Sometimes students come to school and decide to fast because their friends are fasting. I want to be sure that they are following whatever decision was made at home.

I wanted to say thank you to all of you for helping to make me feel so appreciated last week!!  The gifts on Friday were the icing on the cake of an already amazing week.  I am especially thankful to have a classroom of such awesome students.  I hope you know how much I appreciate them – and their parents, as well 🙂  THANK YOU!

We had so much fun and were super lucky that the rain held off until we were all done!

Tomorrow is field day! Unfortunately the temperature is going to drop and it will be CHILLY outside!  We will be outside for about 2 hours and it will be in the mid-40s then. Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather and activities. It would be best for students to wear layers, long pants, and tennis shoes.

They are also welcome to bring a water bottle with their name on it to bring with them as we move from one activity to the next.

Teacher appreciation week is so much fun!!  Thanks so much for the beautiful flowers today!!  We have an amazing bouquet brightening our room 🙂  I am also totally in love with the bulletin board that our room moms put together!!  Check it out:

• We have just confirmed a field trip to Ford Lanes in Dearborn Heights for Wednesday, June 6th.  We will leave school right after lunch at 12:40 and return to school by 3:15.  I wanted to let you know now because we WILL need parent drivers for this trip! More information will follow, but if you are willing to be a parent driver for this trip, please let me know.
