We ended March is Reading Month this week by continuing to enjoy our guest readers.  Thanks to Adriana’s Mom, Nora’s Mom, Khalil’s Dad, Ali’s Mom, Ameer’s Mom, Hussein’s Mom, and Hassen’s brother for taking time to come and read to us 🙂

We had a busy week of guest readers and loved every minute of it.  Thanks so much to Jake’s Mom, Gus and Zora’s Mom, Abraham’s Mom, and Hassen’s brother for taking the time to come read.  We also had a visit from author, Gino Perri, and even Maya’s sister came to read as part of an assignment.  Fun!!!

What a busy day!!  We had 2 guest readers and a super skating adventure!!  Thanks so much to Joelle’s Mom and Maya’s Dad for reading to us today.  Plus, a huge thanks to all of our drivers and chaperones for our trip today!!  We are so lucky to have such amazing parents 🙂  If you didn’t get to go with us today, we missed you, but here are some pics for you to enjoy.

• Field trip tomorrow: Students should pack a brown bag lunch. They are welcome to bring their own skates/rollerblades if they have them. Drivers should be at school by 9:00 a.m.
• Bingo for Books: Wednesday 5:30 – 7:00
• Pennies for Patients:  We have one more week to collect donations. The last day for students to bring money is this Friday, March 23.
• Guest Readers:  It is so fun to have guest readers come in to our classroom!  Thanks so much to Mariam’s Mom, Dede’s Mom, and the DHS football team for taking the time to come and read to us 🙂

Brookies were a success on Friday!  Thanks to Hussein’s Mom, Deanna’s Mom, and Hassen’s Mom for coming in to help us!!

Reminders for this week:

• Concert tonight.  Please arrive around 6:45 so we can get started promptly at 7.
• Late start tomorrow.
• Pennies for patients started yesterday.  A note is coming home today with more info.  The day to turn in your boxes is March 23rd.
• Don’t forget to have your child write down their reading minutes every day.  The goal for the week is 120 minutes.

YAY for us!  We have filled our brownie points pan again and are really excited to make brookies.  Is anyone available to come in Friday morning around 10:00 and help us with the mixing/clean up??

The skating field trip is rescheduled for Tuesday, March 20th!

• UPDATED:  Our field trip has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 20th.  Please let me know if you are still able to drive.

• Everyone should be counting their minutes for March is Reading Month.  On the days your child doesn’t bring home their reading bag, please remember that RAZ-Kids is a great option since it is books already at their level and it includes a quiz.

• Calling all parents…we would LOVE to have you come in and read to us!!  There was a paper in the reading month packet that you can fill out and send in.
