Monthly Archives: September 2013

This Week…

A newsletter went home today, here are some of the highlights:

  • In Science today we used our senses to observe plants (dug up from my mom’s garden) and paid special attention to their parts.
  • Our first Math test will be early next week.  It will cover counting money, telling time to 5 minutes, adding, counting by 5’s and 10’s, and expanded notation.  We will do a review sheet later in the week and it will come home over the weekend.
  • LATE START WEDNESDAY…school starts at 9:35 a.m.
  • Book order – I sent home the September book order just in case anybody is interested.  Some of you may not have made it to the book fair, or, you may see something in here that you didn’t see at the fair.  Orders are due by next Monday, October 7th.  You can also order online at https://orders.scholastic.com/MK4VL
  • Please take a look at your child’s spelling test and help them remember to bring the notebook back to school tomorrow.

In the news…

No paper newsletter this week!  Just a few notes:

  • We will visit the book fair on Tuesday to buy books.  If your child brought money today, we are keeping it in a safe place until it is our turn.
  • We did take a spelling test today.  I will check it over the weekend and send it home in the homework folder on Monday.
  • If you want a head start, next week’s spelling words are posted on the spelling page of the blog.  Students will bring their new words home on Monday.

That’s all for now…Have a great weekend!!

Open House

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!  What a great night!!  It was such a pleasure to see so many smiling faces and to be able to chat with so many of you!  I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to visit our classroom 🙂

PEACE!

We had an assembly today to promote peace in Dearborn and across the world.  Each student held a pinwheel they made in Art and we all sang a song about peace that students learned in Music.  I wish I had remembered the camera!!!!!

Tomorrow night is Open House from 6:00-7:00 in the classrooms.  At 7:00 p.m., Mr. Denison will hold a short meeting in the cafeteria.  I can’t wait to see everyone 🙂
