Today in Language Arts we discussed the MSTEP Prep that will be taking place this week.  I explained that this test is the replacement for the MEAP.  We will be taking the Language Arts component at the end of May.  The students were also given their tests back.  We looked at the scores and discussed retakes.  The students were also notified of their final grade for the marking period and retests were scheduled.  We also reviewed the QAR strategies using our comprehension tests to practice.  We discussed how we can use these strategies to help us with the MSTEP.

Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place on Monday from 3:30 to 6:30.  If one of the teachers has a concern about your child, you will be contacted.  All parents are welcome to attended however, we are only contacting parents of children we have concern for.  Since it is conference week, that means it is book fair week too!  The students will be going to the book fair tomorrow during Language Arts.  I have encouraged students to make a list of books they would be interested in reading if they are coming to conferences.  If parents are not coming to conferences, students have been encouraged to bring their money tomorrow so that they can purchase new books if they choose to do so.

Have a great evening!
