In Language Arts today the students finished presenting their vocabulary words to their classmates.  A picture of our last Word Wall for the year will be on the blog post for Tuesday.

The students were also given time in class to work on their Instagram Activity.  This is our summative project for the marking period. The students were asked to bring in our draw a picture of a conflict from The Giver.  While doing this, they were to pretend they were posting as the character who experienced this conflict.  They Then had to comment on the picture and focus their comment about some form of characterization.  They then had to use a hashtag identifying the conflict they were describing and a second one focusing on characterization.  The students also needed to create a profile picture that represents the character and a username for the character.  On the back of the post, they had to answer questions identifying the reasoning behind their creation and use textual evidence to support their thinking.  This assignment was due at the end of class.
