In Language Arts today the students set up their interactive notebooks. We added our table of contents, goals and conferring sheets, and our book lists to our notebooks. If students did not finish in class, it was homework.

In Language Arts today the students spent time learning about one another. They also worked on their All About Me posters.

In Language Arts today the students participated in a team building activity where they were required to line themselves up by birth date without speaking or writing. The students had to find ways to communicate and develop team building skills.
The students were also given their team syllabus, list of class materials, and their movie permission slip (to be kept on file for all teachers). The students are expected to have the permission slip returned and all class materials prepared for Tuesday.
Lastly, the students were introduced to their All About Me project. The students will be creating a poster with information about themselves and presenting it to their classmates. This will provide the students with the opportunity to get to know one another. The students were asked to bring a recent picture of themselves to class tomorrow.

Welcome to Mrs. Bailey’s Sixth Grade Language Arts class!
I was so excited to meet my new students today! Since classes were much shorter than normal, we spent time in class getting comfortable with the room. I also shared a video about myself and this class with the students. I have added the video to this blog post for families who may want to get to know me too!
I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow for our first full day of school!
In Language Arts today the students completed their passport to move on to Seventh Grade Language Arts. They also took home the popsicle sticks they have been using for their reading and writing strategies as well as their portfolios.
Tomorrow we will be doing team activities and Thursday’s class will consist of a team meeting and yearbook signing. Today will be the last day I post to my blog for the year. All grades will be updated by the end of the day today.

In Language Arts today the students took their vocabulary final exam and completed an evaluation of Ms. Traylor. They also turned in their writing interactive notebooks, last reading log, and their letter of complaint. Everything will be graded by the end of the day Tuesday so that grades for the year will be updated and accurate for students’ progress for the end of the year.
