In Language Arts today the students presented their Theme Projects.  I will have grades updated to reflect their project scores.

I also allowed students to rewrite their “All Summer in a Day” Resolution and their Personal Narrative and turn them in today.  They have known about this since last Friday. Since I spent a lot of time working with students in class and students were given time to work on this, I will not be accepting late rewrites.  I will have grades updated to reflect the rewrite scores by Monday but I definitely will not have it done before then. Some students still have not turned in the original drafts of their writing. If this is the case, the student has an E in the class since we haven’t had a lot of summative grades for the marking period at this time.

If the class finished presentations early, they were given time to work on their Read Theory, Moby Max, and NewsELA.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Today in Language Arts the students began working on a project.  They are working in small groups with partners of their choosing to analyzing a story from our literature book that they chose.  They will be analyzing the figurative language, theme, vocabulary, and writing a summary of the story.  They will be presenting this on Google Slides during class on Wednesday. They were given all of class today to work on this.  They will be working on this on Monday and Tuesday during class as well. Therefore, I will not be posting to the blog on Monday and Tuesday.

I am in the process of grading the Personal Narrative and “All Summer in a Day” Resolution. At this time, grades are NOT updated. I am hoping to be done by the end of the day on Monday. Lastly, the students were asked to read the short story, Ant and Grasshopper. Afterwards, they needed to write a CER on the theme of the story. If this was not completed by the end of class, it was assigned as homework.

Today in Language Arts, the students discussed conjunctions and watched the Schoolhouse Rock video about conjunctions.  We will be digging deeper into this tomorrow.
