Our class took our Figurative Language Quiz today.  I have already graded and posted the scores for second and third hour.  I have been impressed with what I have seen so far!  It was very obvious to me which students studied and which students chose not to.  I am hoping to have fourth hours grades posted late this evening.  This will not be done until closer to 11pm.  Please do not ask me about it before them.  It is senior night for the Varsity Swim Team at Carlson and since I am the coach, I will not be getting to them until later.

With our remaining class time, the students learned how to be more specific when classifying fiction genres.  The genres we focused on today are fantasy, mystery, realistic fiction, science fiction, and historical fiction. We are beginning to build a genres board.  We already determined that Eleven and The School Play are realistic fiction stories because they are both fictional but could really happen to people in real life.
