Today was a library day in Language Arts.  The students were given time to go to the library and select good fit books.  All students should be reading these books at home twenty minutes a night, five nights a week.  Reading Logs are due on Fridays with a parent signature on them showing that students are reading at home.  We began the peer editing process on our personal narratives today as well.  We will be peer editing all week and final drafts will be due on Monday.  While peer editing today, we focused on conventions and word choice.  We discussed what this means before we began editing.  Lastly, we continued our discussion on the pyramid of action.  Students defined each component in their own words and continued the application of these terms by reading the story, “The School Play,” and identifying the corresponding parts of the pyramid of action. The end of the marking period is this Friday.  Please make sure students are staying on top of their grade.
