In Language Arts today the students continued to focus on creating a personal narrative. We discussed the importance of sequential order when writing events. We also discussed how the reader should feel before the climax in a story comes. The students will be expected to complete two rough drafts (unedited) by October 7th when we return from break. If this is not done by next Thursday, it is homework over the break.
Our first vocabulary test is scheduled for Wednesday, October 8th. At this point, the student should have study materials in their interactive notebooks. The words have also been posted to the blog. We finished creating our study materials in class today.
Lastly, we continued our work with elements of a story. The students were given time to read a children’s book of their choice with a partner. They then identified the elements of a story with that partner.
The end of the first marking period is October 10th. With the four day weekend coming up, this will be here before we know it. Please make sure your child is getting their work completed. I will not be accepting late work for this marking period after October 8th.
Homework: One hour of Moby Max in the grammar section.
Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
