In Language Arts today the students took their quiz on the Parts of Speech. I will have grades updated by the end of the day to reflect their scores.
After the quiz, the students were given time to work on their NewsELA article about self-driving cars. This will not be due until Friday, November 8th and will be one of the first grades on the new marking period.
Lastly, we spent time in class organizing our interactive notebooks. These notebooks are being used as study guides for the unit test on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I will collect them for a grade. Students will be allowed to use their literature book on the test but not their interactive notebooks. The retake is also built in to the assessment meaning the students can attempt each question three times while taking the test and receive credit for answering the question unless the question is true/false.
Several students did not turn in their one-pagers or setting project which is extremely disappointing because of the amount of time they were given to complete the assignments both in and out of the classroom. Students can turn these assignments in late but since all late work was due on Friday, I cannot guarantee that I will get them graded in time to be reflected on their report cards.
Have a great evening!

Announcements:
- Don’t forget PBIS Cider and Donuts is Wednesday before school at 7:30. Students are still expected to be in Advisory at 8:00.
- If one Eagle Etiquette Card is filled in their planner, students will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school on Thursday. These costumes must follow our school dress code. Students are not allowed to wear masks, have any sort of weapon(s), wear face point, have blood and gore on them in any way, or spray paint their hair. While this is meant to be fun, we will still be doing learning in class and cannot disrupt the learning process.
