In Language Arts today the students finished acting out The Prince and the Pauper. They were also given time to finish up their characterization chart describing major and minor characters from the text.

The students also spent time practicing brainstorming for a non-fiction essay. They were asked to identify possible themes in the story they did their theme project on (Lob’s Girl, The Dog of Pompeii, Jeremiah’s Song, and Scout’s Honor). Then, they needed to plan out an essay. We will not be writing an essay in class, we are practicing the planning of essays.

I will be in a meeting out of the building all day tomorrow. I am giving students the opportunity to work on the following assignments in class:

  1. Finish The Prince and the Pauper Characterization Chart
  2. IBC Chart Themes of “The Good Deed”
  3. IBC Chart Themes of chosen story
  4. One-Pagers Five and Six due Friday
  5. Read Theory (Due Friday)
  6. Late Work (Due Friday)
  7. NewsELA: Mark Twain (Due Monday)
  8. Moby Max: Apostrophes, Capitalization, Commas, Quotation Marks, Homophones, and Greek and Latin Roots due Friday, April 12th
