In Language Arts today the students continued to learn about figurative language.  We focused on personification and imagery in class. I have attached the videos we used to this blog post.

The students also began to learn about adverbs.  We discussed what an adverb is as well as how the answers to question words can help us find adverbs.

The end of the marking period will be Friday, January 26th.  During that week, our students will be taking their Unit 2 Comprehension Test and their Unit 3 Vocabulary and Grammar test. The students have been given resources on Google Classroom to help them study. More resources will be added as we start wrapping up the parts of speech in class.

We are quickly approaching our mid-year testing window!  Our team of teachers met and decided we did not want to overwhelm our students by having them NWEA test in each class during the same week.  For this reason, we have divided up the testing window.  The students will be taking the Language Arts NWEA during the week of January 29th.  It is crucial students are in class so that we can complete our testing in a timely manner and move on to our next unit of learning.

Have a great evening!
