In Language Arts the students spent time reviewing the digital learning expectations they created last week. We went over the rules and expectations while we are in a Zoom meeting. We also went over the Behavior Matrix for our school. In our building, this is posted in each classroom with the expectations of students. During asynchronous time, the students were asked to reflect on one of the questions from the matrix and post their reflection to Schoology. By Friday, each student needs to respond to another classmate. This is how I will be taking attendance for asynchronous time this week.

The students also spent time going over the syllabus for our class. Please make sure families view the syllabus in the purple resource folder on our Schoology page. The information within it will be helpful for making sure everyone is successful over the course of the school year!

The students were also given the opportunity to sign up for Remind. Remind 101 is an app. that can be used to send text message reminders about what is going on in class. The teacher does not have students’ or parents’ phone number and they do not have the teachers’. Directions for signing up for Remind can be found in the purple resource folder on my Schoology page. I would encourage each student and those who support the student’s education to sign up!

At the end of class, I went over the Summer Learning expectations. Over the course of the summer, the students were asked to read three books of their choosing. They are to select one of those books, create a Google Slides presentation, and submit it to Schoology. This assignment will not be due for a couple of weeks since it will take time for students to complete. Next week, I will show students how to submit the assignment.

Have a wonderful evening!
