In Language Arts today the students participated in a figurative language activity where they shared the examples of figurative language they found while reading “The Jacket” last week. For the remainder of the year, we will be keeping track of the figurative language we find in our reading on the figurative language board in our classroom. By the end of the year, we will have a board full of figurative language examples!
The students were also assigned a figurative language project. They must select a type of figurative language and come up with a creative way to share this with the class. There are 9 different project options. If the students would like to, they can complete 2 projects for extra credit. These projects will be due NEXT Friday, January 31st. They will be given class time tomorrow as well as more time next week to work on it.
Lastly, we will be taking our unit test on Figurative Language on Thursday. The test will only focus on figurative language.
Have a great evening!
