In Language Arts today the students were given time to go to the library. In order to manage their time wisely, the students have been encouraged to finish reading their third good fit book for the year by the time they return from break next week.

When we returned from the library, the students discussed the conflicts in “Tuesdays of the Other June”. We discussed how some stories can have more than one conflict. Then, we practiced writing a CER on one of the conflicts in the story. This was done together in class in their writing notebooks.

With the remainder of class time, the students participated in an activity called “The Last Word”. The students worked in groups and shared their favorite quote from “Tuesdays of the Other June”. The other students in the group had to guess why they thoughts the student chose the quote that they did. After each person guessed, the student who chose the quote shared their thoughts about it. Each person in the group had an opportunity to share and discuss.

Have a great evening!
