Today in Language Arts the students practiced identifying figurative language in a short story. This time, the story had multiple examples of different types of figurative language. For extra credit, they were given 1-4 other stories to practice with. They got to choose how many stories they wanted to practice with. Each story that is completed by February 1st is worth 5 points of extra credit.
The students were also assigned a figurative language project. They must choose from one of nine projects options they can complete in order to practice figurative language. Some can be hand-written while others are on the computer. If the students want to complete two of the options, they can do so for 10 points of extra credit. They will be given all of class tomorrow to work on this. Students will have the option of presenting on Friday for extra credit too.
Lastly, the students were given a storyboard templates. They need to come up with at least six events in their story. They were asked to take the brainstorm activity about their greatest memory and choose one of those ideas to write their personal narrative about. This will be due next Wednesday.
Have a wonderful Wednesday! (Alliteration)
