We will be having our Unit 2 Test on Monday, January 14th. This is a comprehension test that will focus on genre, mood and tone, story devices, and conflict. Other literary analysis questions will appear on the test as well such as point of view and author’s purpose.

In Language Arts today the students continued to learn about figurative language.  Today we focused on imagery and hyperboles. We discussed their meanings and looked at examples during class. We also continued to practice identifying similes and metaphors. I have included the example videos we watched in class to this blog post.

We also began talking about adjectives in class today. We looked at different types of adjectives and examples of each.

Moby Max was assigned for both adjectives and figurative language.  There are six lessons total (3 for each topic) that need to be completed by Friday, January 18th.

Lastly, the students were given time in class to write their rough draft of the resolution for “All Summer in a Day.” Since they are changing the ending of the story, they will not have a complete story from beginning to end.  They were asked to write the resolution in four to six paragraphs covering four events that they added to the story.

Have a fantastic evening!
