In Language Arts today the students continued to learn about nouns by discussing how singular possessive and plural possessive nouns.
We also spent time in class reviewing facts and opinions and discussing elements that make a statement a fact or an opinion. We will continue building on this idea over the course of the next couple of weeks and using this idea as a foundation for argumentative writing. If this was not finished in class, it was homework.
Lastly, the students went back into the story we read on Friday, “Tuesdays of the Other June”, and pulled out quotes from the text that made them think. They also wrote down why these quotes were important or what thoughts they had about the quote. If this was not finished in class, it was homework.
Tomorrow is the last evening for conferences. Math and Language Arts conferences for our team will be held in Ms. Taha’s room (41) from 3:30 to 6:30. I look forward to seeing families that were unable to attend on Monday!
Have a great evening!
