In Language Arts yesterday and today the students have been learning about making a connection to a text. We discussed the three types of connections we can make while reading. Today we practiced making a connection to the story, “The Good Deed” after we read it in class.
The students were also given the directions for One-Pager Number 5 in class today. There are a few changes to this one pager, instead of a favorite quote, the students are asked to give an example of figurative language and explain it. The CER response will focus on the mood and tone of the story this time. Don’t forget, graphic novels and comic books are no longer allowed to be used as a one-pager. I have also attached the directions for the one-pager to this blog post.
Have a great evening and a Happy Valentine’s Day!
