In Language Arts today the students spent time at the library. They were encouraged to select good fit books that would challenge their reading. They used the information from the results of the most recent NWEA test to help establish what types of books will help them become better readers. The students also spent time digging deeper into plot by being introduced to the pyramid of action. Additionally, the class spent time working with vocabulary words and practicing using apostrophes.
This Thursday and Friday will be our first two tests of the school year. One Thursday, the students will take their vocabulary test. On Friday, the students will be taking their story elements test. Components of the test will consist of the pyramid of action, author’s purpose, point of view, story vocabulary, apostrophes, capitalization, and comprehension questions from The School Play and Eleven. We will be playing a review game on Thursday to help students prepare for the assessment.
Have a great evening!
