Today in Language Arts the students focused on identifying story devices.  We reviewed foreshadowing, inferencing, cliffhangers, and suspense.  We then applied these terms to the story, All Summer in a Day.  In addition to looking at story devices, the students discussed what the mood and tone of our story are.  We came up with definitions for these and practiced identifying how these concepts make us feel as readers.

Homework: Read for 20 minutes, study for our vocabulary test tomorrow, get our mood and tone notes glued into our interactive notebooks, and create a summary of All Summer in a Day.
