Dear Parents,
Welcome!!! I would like to welcome you and your child to 3rd grade in Room 208! My name is Mrs. Travis and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I truly look forward to making this a wonderful school year for your child!
I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan – Dearborn and my Masters Degree from Marygrove College. This is my fourteenth year teaching and my ninth year teaching third grade. I have also previously taught first, fourth, and fifth grades in Dearborn and Downriver. I have been married to my husband for thirteen years and we are proud parents of our amazing ten month old son, Chase.
I am excited to join the Whitmore-Bolles family and look forward to having your child as a part of our school family. I will be very dedicated to your child’s learning. As the classroom teacher, I plan to help each student continually reach for success in a caring, safe, and positive learning environment. I am a strong believer in teacher, parent, and student communication. It is important for us to work together as a team, helping each child grow as a learner and ensuring the most successful 3rd grade experience.
During Open House, you will receive a copy of our class syllabus, which will give you additional detailed information about our classroom and school year. If you haven’t already sent in the suggested classroom school supplies from the list posted on the school blog, if possible, we would appreciate your help getting the supplies sent in, so the students will have the materials they need for this important school year.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. You can contact me by calling the school or sending a note in with your child. Again, I commit myself to your child’s education this year. I look forward to meeting you and working with your child this year. I hope you have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Travis
