Conclusion!

Hello 8th Graders,

Each day this week, you have been asked to write 1-2 paragraphs for your argumentative essay. We have gone step by step together. Tomorrow, will be revision/edit day with your final being typed next Monday. The final product is due on Wednesday on Google Classroom.

Today, we discussed how to write a conclusion. A conclusion is like a summary of your essay. It consists of two parts: restating your thesis and leaving your reader with something to think about.

Restating a Thesis: Same ideas, different words. Example– Instead of saying Anne became more responsible, you could say Anne held herself accountable for her actions.

Leaving your Reader with a Thought: This should be the last line of your essay. Ask yourself how your essay relates to a big picture and what is most important about it.

Email me with questions before 7pm!
