January Recap
Hello OL Smith Family,
Since returning from break, students have been working on an argumentative essay. We have thoroughly broken down the writing process. Students were given two days for research, one day for outlining, and four days for the rough draft. During the four rough draft days, we reviewed one paragraph each day and students were asked to completed that paragraph before leaving class. This was to allow students to ask many questions during the rough draft process and ensure confidence and achievement for the final summative assignment of the semester. Each day, the students I had not met with were announced and asked to see me before leaving class to receive feedback.
During the upcoming week, students will have time to peer review with classmates and type their final drafts. Final drafts are due to Google Classroom on 1/23. Since this is the last week of the card marking, essays will not be accepted late! Students will then spend Wednesday and Thursday taking NWEA.
