Hello Room 108 Families,

Can you believe March is already here? I cannot believe how fast this school year has been going! As always, thank you for your hard work and dedication as we work together to help your child have the best school year! I am excited to share all the fun things we have been learning about! First, I want to point out a couple dates of importance:

Looking Ahead…

  • Preschool DOES NOT HAVE LATE START on Wednesday, March 9! Preschool starts PROMPTLY at 8:15 AM!
  • Our next Parent Meeting is Thursday, March 17. This parent meeting is planned to be in-person! A sign-up sheet will be available as the date gets closer.

What Did We Learn About This Week?

R was our letter this week! The students practiced letter R by using BINGO Dabbers to write capital and lowercase R. The students also practiced making the letter R sound. The students wrote about things that start with letter R (rabbit, rain, rainbow, etc.).

We also started talking about weather. The students talked about different types of weather, such as rainy weather, snowy weather, sunny weather, stormy weather, etc. The students wrote about their favorite type of weather in their writing journals!

We are more than halfway done with our STEAM exploration! The students explored different types of jobs and how people use tools for their jobs. For example, mail delivery people need delivery and mail trucks to deliver the mail. People who work at mail sorting centers need slides and ramps to sort the packages. Some people need forklifts to carry heavy boxes. After creating these jobs, the students wrote about them in their Engineering Notebook!
