Announcements
Hello and happy Friday, everyone! We made it to the weekend! Thank you all again for your participation and cooperation during our remote learning period. As always, let’s give our brains a break this weekend and relax! I have provided some suggested activities you and your family can do this weekend. Before we start the weekend, here is an announcement:
4 Year Old Preschool Registration

Field Trip: Garden City Fire Station
Last week, we took a virtual field trip to a fire station! Mr. Liepe, a preschool teacher at Whitmore Bolles Elementary, interviewed some fire fighters from the Garden City Fire Station. In this field trip, the fire fighters explain how they put on their gear before fighting a fire. Check it out!
Science Experiment: Magic Milk
Take some time to do a fun science experiment using household items. Here are the materials you need:
- Milk (1 cup)
- A shallow dish (plate, bowl, etc.)
- Food coloring
- Dish soap
- Q-tips
Watch this video for the step-by-step process of how to do the experiment:
Outdoor Exploration/Exercise
Unfortunately, it looks like we may see some rain this weekend. However, there will be some periods of sunshine and warm weather! I encourage you and your family to get exercise for at least 60 minutes each day. Here are some suggestions if you are unable to go outside:
Cosmic Kids Yoga: Click here to access Cosmic Kids Yoga! There are many yoga activities you and your child can do to stretch and relax your mind.
Go Noodle Games: Click here to access Go Noodle Games! They have many ideas for games you and your child can do at home.
Koo Koo Kangaroo YouTube Channel: Click here to access Koo Koo Kangaroo’s YouTube Channel! Koo Koo Kangaroo is a favorite in Room 108! They have a lot of dance videos your child will enjoy!
The Floor is Lava: Create an obstacle course in your house with cushions, pillows, and blankets! Pretend the floor is lava. You and your child have to move around your house by jumping on the cushions, pillows, and blankets so you don’t touch the “lava”!
Work Time
I encourage your child to engage in imaginary play for at least 60 minutes a day. To keep the consistency with what we do at school, I encourage you to follow the Plan, Do, Review process.
