Important Change in this weeks assignment format.

Assignments #1 and #2 for this week have been posted in Google Classroom.

All Google Meets for this week, April 27 – May 1, for the PE Department have been cancelled. Our department is working on a new platform so we can engage with our students in a safe learning environment. However, we will continue to use Google Classroom for out weekly assignments.

As soon as we work out the details of our new form of video conferencing, I will give you details. I look forward to seeing you all again next week. Assignment #1, April, April 27-May 1, is in place of our Google Meet for this week. Please complete the question by Wednesday. We will still have office hours if you would like to touch base with me but it is not required. Assignment #2 will be our usual Work out checklist.

Fun Workout Video!

Here is a workout video that I’ve been doing! I like it because it’s for beginners and it’s something different. I’ve never done one before but this is one I can actually follow! If you would like to include it on your chart you can. If you don’t want to include it, that’s fine as well. Give it a try and enjoy!

Fun Soccer/Tennis game

Here is an idea for a fun easy game that you can play at home!

SOCCER/TENNIS Use a low net/rope/anything that works as a net. Use a soccer ball or volleyball and combine the rules of soccer and tennis to play. Players are allowed to use their feet, head, chest, etc (same as soccer) to get the ball back over the net. The ball doesn’t have to bounce, but can bounce once on each side (same as tennis). You can play singles or doubles! Be creative and have fun!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying active!

Week # 2 update

Students and Parents,

While I encourage you to stay physically active at all times, please be sure to do so without compromising the health and safety of yourself and others. The workouts on the checklist I sent are all solitary in nature that can be done in your home.

During this time of social distancing, I would suggest any sporting activity in which you engage be one that is solitary such as shooting baskets, kicking a soccer ball into a net, yoga, etc. There are many activities that can be done in a socially responsible fashion. My main goal is for you to remain safe while continuing to be active which is also important for your health and well-being.

If you or your parents feel a sporting activity is not consistent with the recommendations for your safety during this time, please feel free to omit that portion of the checklist.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Students complete week#2 checklist and check my blog daily for further instructions. I will be sending out a new checklist weekly. Please remember to put your hour next to your name in the subject line and in your narative.
