Week of 9-27-21

Welcome to a new week! Here’s what’s happening:

*The weekly spelling words have been posted in Schoology. Please help your child study them every night for Friday’s test.

*Miss Mary in the kitchen had to flip flop a couple of days this week for lunch. Therefore, Tuesday we will have halal sweet & sour chicken and Wednesday will be Bosco Sticks.

*Please help your budding musicians to remember their instruments for class with Ms. Hart on Tuesdays.

*Your child’s mid-module test will be coming home on Tuesday. I have a couple of students who need to finish it before I can send the scores home. Please be on the lookout for the bear stamp. That means your child received a score of less than 80% and it needs to be signed and returned.

*Also, this math module has been tricky for the students. Please remind them to use their Homework Helper AND the videos that review the day’s lessons that I’ve posted in their Math course in Schoology. If you see your child struggling, you can also give them the other questions from their homework for more practice. I give them an Exit Ticket to check their understanding (it doesn’t go on their report cards) and then I know what needs to be reviewed that day. It also shows me who I need to work with in a small group.

*The Book Fair is happening at Nowlin this week! Our day to shop is Wednesday. Your child got to preview it today and should have brought home a list of books they are interested in. If you’d like them to purchase anything, we’ll be shopping on Wednesday afternoon.

*Book Bingo is coming this Wednesday, September 29 from 5:30-7:30pm. You can purchase a bingo board for $1 and there will also be refreshments.

As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please email me at: tattaa@dearbornschools.org or text me on Class Dojo.

Week of 9-20-21

Wow what a busy week this has been! So much has been happening, so let’s jump into it:

*Spelling words have been given to the students AND have been posted in Schoology. The spelling test is Friday. Please let me know if you can’t access Schoology.

*This Friday is our first math TEST. Therefore, a study guide will be coming home on Wednesday and we’ll review it in class on Thursday.

*Please help remind your child to bring their chrome book and charger everyday. Especially because many ELA assignments will be done electronically.

*We still need a Room Parent to represent us at the monthly PTA meetings. If anyone is interested, please let me know ASAP!

*The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Nowlin September 27-October 1 and we need all hands on deck! Please consider signing up at one of the slots below to help our students with cashing out their purchases! Many hands make light work!

Week of 9-13-21

Welcome to a new week! Here’s what’s happening:

*Your child has their first spelling list of the year! The pattern is homophones and the test is Friday.

*Your child SHOULD have brought home their first math quiz on Monday (there were absent children & 1 student who will get theirs when they return). Any score less than 80% needs to be signed and returned.

*This Wednesday is a LATE START. That means that your child needs to be in line by 9:55am.

*We will be taking the NWEA this Wednesday and Thursday. Please help your child remember their Chrome Book and charge cord.

*This Friday is a Half Day. Dismissal will be at 12:05pm.

*PLEASE HELP!! We need a classroom parent who can help us out by representing our class during monthly PTA meetings. Please let me know if ASAP you can help! Thanks!

*If you ever have any questions or concerns, please email me at: tattaa@dearbornschools.org or text me in Class Dojo.
