This week I plan on our class to start going out for CBI (Community Based Instruction) weekly to the Shopping center on the Hill in Allen Park. All students have turned in their permission slips (thank you!). If there is not enough room on the bus some students will stay at school with another teacher. You do not have to send in money unless you chose to. I plan on going out on Wednesdays, but this may change.

Tomorrow is October!

A few schedule reminders for next month. Tuesday, Oct. 3 is no school for students while teachers have professional development.

The following Tuesday – Oct. 10 – Early Release Tuesdays start. Students will be dismissed 90 minutes early on the Tuesdays they are in school.

Hello! Tomorrow August 28th is the first day of school and it’s a half day. School will be dismissed at 11:30. Tomorrow or whenever your son/daughter comes to school for the first time this school year you will find a packet of papers that need to be signed and returned to school with your son/daughter as soon as possible. Here is a brief description of the forms in the packet. If you attended Open House you already filled the forms out, thank you!

IEP Amendment form: Your sons/daughters IEP has to be amended to reflect the amount of hours they will be in school weekly once early release begins. If a student has an IEP before October 6th, they do not have to have their IEP amended. 

Field Trip Permission Slip: this is for your son/daughter to ride the school bus when go out for CBI (Community Based Instruction) to stores such as Target and Meijer. We may also take a field trip later in the school year.

Photo Permission Slip: I love taking photos of my students! I need your permission. In my classroom you will see that I have a lovely display of pictures of students. I also use their pictures for educational purposes. They may also have their picture taken by other staff as well while they are in a special or participating in a school activity.

It is very important that you check your son or daughter’s backpack everyday.

If your son/daughter is new to my class please send in an extra shirt and pants to be kept in their locker in case they have an accident. Clothing that needs to be cleaned will be sent home in a plastic bag inside of their backpack. When the clothing to be cleaned is sent home please send in a clean shirt and pants with them on the next school day.

If your son/daughter needs diapers or nutritional supplements such as Ensure please send them to school on the first day of school.

There is no school on Friday September 1st or Monday September 4th. School will resume on Tuesday September 5th.

At this time I do not have the bus numbers, drop off times, or pickup times.

The district has updated its tentative calendar for the school year to delay early release days until October 10th. قامت المنطقة بتحديث التقويم المؤقت الخاص بها للعام الدراسي لتأجيل أيام الإصدار المبكر حتى 10 أكتوبر.

Open House is Friday August 25th from 1:30-3:00 . *This is the Dearborn Schools tentative calendar* As of today the first day of school will be Monday, Aug. 28, 2023.  It is again a half day. New this year is that school open houses will be held on Aug. 25, the Friday before school starts. I will let you know the time soon. This calendar includes early release days (90 minutes early) every Tuesday for all schools in the district. If anything about the calendar changes I will let you know.

…..is this Thursday July 27th. Currently there is no start date for the 23/24 school year. The district is still working on the calendar.
