Science A and B

I am moving the quiz to Tuesday because this week has been hectic with the kickball game, me at a meeting and Mrs. Mawri’s CER lesson.

Tomorrow we are working on a summative lesson so please make sure the “Ecology Interactive With the Environment” foldable is colored and stapled.

The field trip was wet and very “mosquito filled” but the students were well behaved and seemed to learn and apply a lot of science.  Thank you for packing lunches and for making sure everyone was here on time.

A special thanks goes out to Dalya’s sister and Dianna’s mother for coming with us in the rain.

Please look at yesterday’s BLOG for the homework that is due tomorrow.

Grades – Important

Grades – Important

Hello again families-

We just finished adjusting and correcting everyone’s grades so as of right now the grades showing for your student is what they are earning in class.

Please take time to look to see if your child has missing assignments. In math there are quite a few assignments recorded. In science there are only three assignments currently attached to points. In science class we are working on projects and ongoing work – there are many half complete assignments that should be in your student’s folder that we work on during the week. The tricky thing is having 6th graders not losing them – that can be a challenge but it is their responsibility.

Thanks for your patience.

Tuesday, September 27

Parents and students please look at your grades online. All the students were shown how to do this in class and should be checking at least a couple of times each week, there should be no surprises at report card time. In middle school all students get six report cards about six weeks apart from each other so the first report card marking is coming up soon. The first marking period usually has the least amount of summative work (tests and quizzes) because of all the beginning of the year work built into our day.

Many, many students are not completing their work – this does affect grades.  Many, many students are also not putting their names on their work. If your student feels they turned it in and it is showing missing they should look in the “no name bin”, find their paper, put their name on it and turn it into the white basket by the door.

If your student was absent it is their middle school responsibility to get their missing work and stay after school for help if needed. It is their responsibility to turn in any missing work into the white basket by the door.

Math 1 and 2

Complete the divisibility rules worksheet using the foldable we made today in class and is glued into the interactive student notebook.

Finish the ilearn quizzes for the timed tests which was supposed to be completed during the summer. It is quiz grade on the first report card – this is a district mandate.   Also finish working on KAHN academy which was also be completed during the summer, this is also a quiz grade on the first report card – district mandate.

Science 3-1 and 3-2

Complete the back side of the THEIVES worksheet (VES) that we started yesterday and worked on today – you need to take your book home.

REMEMBER TOMORROW IS OUR FIELD TRIP.  WEAR SHOES THAT CAN GET DIRTY, DRESS FOR A RAINY DAY AND BRING A LUNCH FROM HOME. *******************************************************************IMPORTANT
