HONORS HW and Project News
Please gather evidence/examples for your F. 451 project. You should bring your evidence/outline Monday as we will be going to the library to work on the google slides. Check with your partners for your assigned part if you missed class on Friday.
PART 3 graphic organizer is due MONDAY!
Announcements
AOW #4 was passed out in class due to using it for multi-purposes this week. The format does not allow me to post it to the blog. It is still due Friday.
Students should bring a completed test review (posted last Thursday) on Wednesday to prepare for the exam.

Part 2 due date is bumped to Monday 10-16 because of the half day on Friday.

Unit 1 Test Review
Please print and work on review sheets (3) to reinforce essential words/concepts and practice skills with reading comprehension, inference, using context clues, identifying TONE, purpose, audience, and techniques. The skills based test will use evidence from some of the stories we read, but also contain new passages. One will be literary and the others will be non-fiction (comparing/contrasting text).
Bring your completed review to class next WEDNESDAY to review in class. You will earn extra credit points as well 🙂

We will be setting writing goals based on feedback in the Writer’s Notebook this week, wrapping up our unit with work on a King Arthur piece (tone, summary vs. paraphrase, writer’s craft techniques), and preparing for our unit test. Look for a unit test review later this week. The test is next Thursday 10-19.

HONORS–Read Fahrenheit 451 Part 1
Part 1 “The Hearth and the Salamander”
Read and fill in the graphic organizer I gave you in class. You will have the whole hour in class tomorrow and part of class Thursday, but you need to read at home and during SSR as well (part 1 is about 58 pages).
Vocab 2 is due tomorrow.
2nd hr HW–Finish reading “Orphan Boy”
Finish the story and add to your graphic organizer for stages and archetypes. Bring Wednesday for use to create the cartoon.
Voc. 2 is due as well.
