Argument Unit

We have been working on the Argument Unit the last two weeks, reading and annotating various sources including video clips, articles in a text set, and a film regarding the social issue of organ donation.  Students will choose a prompt, search through their resources for evidence to support their topic, and write a strong CLAIM.  We will spend Thursday and Friday writing introductions with CLAIM, and begin to build our body paragraphs.

HONORS is expected to FINISH their drafts over the week-end and bring them to school on Tuesday, Jan 19th.  We will proofread, edit, and type the final copy in class.  it is due by the end of the hour on 1-19.

Wed–Grammar Post Test Review/ Poe story

Thurs–Grammar Post test–Poe story cont.

Fri.– Poe discussion

 

LA3 (2nd hr.) will work on pieces of the essay each day.

Thurs–INTRO with CLAIM

Fri.–Body #1 with evidence, warrant, insight

Tues–Body #2 with evidence, warrant, insight and Counter-Argument/Refutation

Wed–Grammar Post Test Review/ work on essay–Conclusion

Thurs–Grammar Post test–revise/edit

Friday–Type and print final copy/submit by end of class
