Five mystery words will be given on Friday ‘s test that will follow the spelling pattern. I know there will be a lot of star spellers!

Thank you to all of the family and friends of  Haigh school and especially our second graders, who came to open house!  The students really enjoyed giving you a tour of their new classroom and showing you their work and it was a pleasure meeting all of you!  Thank you for your support and helping to make the night a great success!

A special thank-you to all the second grade parents who volunteered their time, flowers, and “Green Thumbs”  to help make planting day a great event and special memory for the second graders.  The Haigh School grounds look beautiful thanks to you and all the students!

If you would like to order a “Sensational Second Graders 2016” class tee shirt for students to wear for field day and  class picnic, they are $5.00 each.  Child and adult sizes are available. (see note that was sent home for more information)  Please return shirt orders by Wednesday, May 25 so they may be ordered and done in time for these two special events.

Planting Day is Friday May 20th.  For this event we are asking the students to bring their favorite potted flower to school on this day.  The second graders are scheduled to plant their flowers outside in the second grade area from 2:30-3:00.  If you are interested in participating, and would be able to volunteer a few hours of your time and tools to help us plant that would be greatly appreciated!  See note that was sent home for more information.  Hope to see you on Friday!

There will be a second grade team meeting on Thursday, May 19th at 3:35 in Mrs. Polidori’s classroom to discuss our great ideas for the second grade, end of the year picnic.  All second grade room mothers and parents are welcome to attend.
