A fun time was had by all second grade scientists on Friday at the Detroit Science Center.  Thank-you to all second grade parents!  Without your support these learning experiences for the children would not be possible.

The theme for March Is Reading Month Is “Peace, Love and Books”  Many wonderful school wide activities have been planned!  A calendar of events, Reading log and a note with dates and times to sign up to be a guest reader will be coming soon!

The second graders will be “Camping” in the gym for their February PBIS reward.  They will have the opportunity to read their favorite books with tents, sleeping bags and flashlights and friends in the gym from 12:50-1:35. Great way to start off March Is Reading Month!

The second graders are working hard on their informational reports on their two favorite presidents:  George Washington and Abraham Lincoln!  They are reading nonfiction books and using text features to gather information about these two presidents.  They are comparing and contrasting their lives and making a timeline for the presidents and studying  how people can make a difference in history.  Stay tuned for some fun and fascinating facts about each of these great presidents!

Second Graders will be visiting the Detroit Science Center on Friday, February 26,2016. The trip is from 9:00-2:30.  The students will be going by school bus.  Make sure students bring a bag lunch (no glass containers please).  We are all looking forward to the trip, it will be a great learning experience for our second grade scientists!

Second graders will be going on a field trip to the Detroit Science Center!

When: Friday, February 26, 2016.  The cost is $12.00 per student.  Field trip money is due on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.  See note for details.

Students may bring a wrapped treat and valentine cards to share with their 24 classmates for Thursday, February 11, 2016.  Students will pass out cards and treats from 2:00-3:00.   See note for details.
