We will be going to the Dearborn Historical Museum on Friday, March 31st from 9-11:30 A.M. Students will be back in time to eat lunch at school. Please make sure permission slip and $5.00 for student’s ticket is turned in by Thursday, March 30th. Thank you!

New Things We Will Be Learning This Week :
Math- We will be starting Unit 8 with the focus on Fractions- being part of a whole, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions and introducing fraction games in math rotations in math workshop.
Social Studies- We will begin our new Unit- What Do Communities Need? The focus is on economics: needs and wants, scarcity, opportunity cost and how we make good choices with our money.
Science- We will begin our Life Science Unit and study the Life Cycle of a plant, learn the parts of a plant and what each part does. We will be using the CER strategy and non-fiction text to help us.
Reading- We will be practicing how to write a summary, focusing on the author’s purpose for writing a story and using the strategy of cause and effect to help build our comprehension as we read.
We have a week filled with great learning ahead of us!

Book Fair Family Night
Due top the power outages last week, the PTA has decided to extend the book fair. There will be shopping for the students from 9 am-3:30 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am-2 pm. Family night will be on Tuesday from 3:30 pm-8 pm. for students who would like to stop in and shop with a parent.
