Welcome Spring!

Another Full Hybrid Schedule This Week

This is the schedule for next week. March 22-March 26. Second Grade Students also received a paper copy of the schedule when they came for in person learning on Monday or Tuesday last week in their green folder.

Friendly Reminder A day students-Follow Green Schedule.-Come in person 2 days Monday and Thursday. B day students-Follow Orange Schedule -Come in person 2 days Tuesday and Friday. Wednesday Teacher Zooms With All Students. Please note times on the schedule. Also, this week students will continue to log into their special area teacher’s live Zoom lessons during their specific time on their schedule on the days they are not at school in person. You will find a list of the special area teacher’s Zoom links in Schoology, in the ELA folder. The links are in an orange folder marked Special Area Zoom Links.

Supplies To Bring To School

When students come in person please make sure they bring their blue supply box, math learn and succeed books- Module 6, reading bag, notebook and blue folder in their backpack with their Benchmark Magazine.

Schedule For This Week

Epic Books

Over 3895 books have been read on Epic books by my students since we began school! This has totaled over 462 hours of reading! I am so proud of my students! Remember, if you want to read into the evening (after 4:00pm) on Epic books you need to respond to the email invite that I sent to you. This will allow you to read a selection of books for free in the evening. Epic books is usually only free during school hours. Let me know if you need me to resend the invitation to you. Moustafa Salmassi is our Top Reader of the Week! Congratulations! Great job! Keep on reading!

Zearn

Make sure you are logging into Zearn and keeping up with your math practice. Ryan Khazendar is our Top Mathematician of the Week! Congratulations!

March is Reading Month

Since March is National Reading Month, Haigh Elementary will be will be placing special emphasis on activities that promote reading as a fun and enjoyable experience. Our theme is ADVENTURE with the slogan: “Reading is a ticket to adventure!” A special calendar with clickable links is shared below. Your child will have a Reading Log calendar to keep track of their minutes. Each child who returns their reading log by Wednesday, April 7th will earn an entry into a Haigh reading raffle full of EXCITING prizes! Every grade level has a minimum reading goal, which will be measured in minutes read per day at home. Second Grade suggested reading times for each day is at least 25-30 minutes per day.
