Learning Labs
Learning labs are still happening by zoom in the afternoon! Please make sure you know your child’s day and time. I really appreciate your help in making sure they are on zoom on time and they have their books ready so we can start reading right away. This is your child’s chance to practice their reading strategies in a small group, reading books on their level.
Epic Books
Over 1702 books have been read on Epic books by my students since we began school! This has totaled over 209 hours of reading! I am so proud of my students! Remember, if you want to read into the evening (after 4:00pm) on Epic books you need to respond to the email invite that I sent to you. This will allow you to read a selection of books for free in the evening. Epic books is usually only free during school hours. Let me know if you need me to resend the invitation to you. This week I have assigned books on laws and the government and Thanksgiving. Those are our next big topics in our new Benchmark magazine and for the week. Moustafa Salmassi is our Top Reader of the Week! Congratulations! Great job! Keep on reading!
Zearn
Make sure you are logging into Zearn and keeping up with your math practice. Hussein Alemara is our Top Mathematician of the Week! Congratulations!
Material Pick up
Thank you to everyone for picking up second grade materials on Friday. If you could not pick them up on Friday, I will leave them in the office for pick up. Make sure you pick up a folder and a bag of reading books with your child’s name it for learning labs. Be sure to drop off the two Benchmark Packets that are due and that they have your child’s name on them. Your child will need the new materials starting this week. Thank you so much for your help and support in getting the materials they need home.
