Hello Families!

Ms. Thabet and I are excited to be back after our enjoyable and educational trip to the HighScope International Conference and Michigan Association of the Education of Young Children. This Thursday will be our field trip to the University of Michigan- Dearborn Environmental Interpretive Center. I have had several questions about where the building is located on U of M-D’s campus so I am providing a link with a map for everyone to take a look at. I am also including some pictures of my class from last year so you can see the awesome activities we will be participating in!

Hello families!

Tomorrow is pajama day! Children can choose to wear their pajamas to school for our last day before the Spring Break vacation. Please send your children to school in gym shoes (NO slippers please!) as we will still be playing outside and/or in the gym.

School will be closed from 4/3/17-4/7/17 for Spring break, enjoy your vacation we will see you back on April 10th!

Hello Families!

Yesterday we were lucky enough to have Mr. Paul from Classroom Critters in our classroom! Mr. Paul brought many animals with him for the children to see and pet. He talked about the habitats of the animals (where they live) as well as what types of food the animals liked to eat. Any child that wanted to was able to hold and/or pet the animals he brought with him. We were able to see a green tree frog, a blue tongued lizard, a gecko, a cockatiel, and a chinchilla!

-Tomorrow evening, Wednesday March 29th, is conferences. Please arrive on time for your appointment and I look forward to talking with you!

Hello families!

Please join us tonight at Cotter from 4-4:30pm for our annual Bingo for Books event in the large gym to celebrate the last week of March is Reading Month.

There will be games!

There will be prizes!

Each child can win up to three books to take home and add to your personal library along with other fun prizes. All ages are welcome, so please bring your families and spend some time after school with your favorite teachers!

Hello Families!

Thank you so much for joining us for our class trip to the library. The children enjoyed story time and movement with Ms. Rebecca while parents participated in an interactive tour of the library. At the end of our tour parents and children  to choose a story together and draw and/or write a story about what they remembered.

Hello Families!

Here are a few reminders for this week:

Wednesday- 3/22/17 Library Field Trip! This is NOT a normal day. Please meet us at the library at 10:15am and plan to stay with your child until around 11:45am for a library tour and activities. Once the field trip is over you can bring your child back to school and we will have our regular dismissal time of 3:20pm.

Thursday-3/23/17 Half Day. We will begin at our normal time of 8:40am and dismiss at 11:45am.

Also, spring pictures are available for you to see in our classroom at drop off and pick up time all week. Pricing is as follows:

1 sheet-$12

2 sheets -$22

3 sheets-$32

4 sheets- $40

Whole package – $42

Please bring exact amount as Ms. Thabet and I are not able to make change.

Hello Families!

Happy Wacky Wednesday!

We kicked off Wacky Wednesday with a photo op of all our wacky outfits! We had mismatched shoes, two different socks, crazy glasses, silly necklaces, bathrobes, and even backwards clothes!

After our Wacky photo shoot we did large group for small group (how wacky is that?!) and then Officer Aaron read us a story called Peanut Butter and Cupcake.

Later in the day we read the story Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Seuss and used our observation skills to discover all of the wacky things happening in the story.

No school tomorrow for parent-teacher conferences, please make sure to arrive on time and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Hello Families!

Here are a few reminders for this week:

1. WACKY WEDNESDAY!!!!
   This Wednesday, March 15^th we will be celebrating Wacky Wednesday in our classroom. Children can choose to wear “wacky outfits” for example: two different shoes, mismatched clothes, two different earrings, crazy colors, backwards clothes, etc. This is a fun day in our classroom where we will be doing many fun activities and reading the story Wacky Wednesday by Dr. Seuss! Ms. Thabet and I will also be wearing “wacky” outfits this day!

   

2. Please remember that there is NO LATE START for our class on Wednesday. We will be beginning at our normal time of 8:40am.

   

3. Thursday, March 16^th is Parent-Teacher Conferences. There is NO SCHOOL for children. Please come to our classroom for your assigned conference time. If you are unsure of your conference date or time please click on the link at the top of the page that says “conferences.” I have uploaded the schedule there for you.
