Hello families!
Last week we took advantage of the sunny weather on Thursdsy and had a picnic on the playground during snack time!
Don’t forget: home visits begin at the end of this week so the children will not have school this Thursday, May 3rd. The children will return to school Monday, May 14th. Home visit reminders will be going home this week in your child’s folder.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Hello Families!
Thank you so much for joining us for our Dental Heath and Nutrition parent meeting yesterday in our classroom! It was wonderful to hear the conversations and questions everyone had for Ms. Kassandra Bowden, our guest dental hygienist from Convenant Community Care in Detroit, MI. Please enjoy these pictures from yesterday!
If you did not sign up for a home visit appointment at yesterday’s parent meeting please make sure to do so Monday during pick up or drop off time. Home visits for our classroom will be May 3rd, 9th, and 10th.
Have a great weekend!

Hello Families!
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable Spring Break last week! Before our vacation I sent home the April calendar with the date for our next parent meeting, but there was no time listed.
Our next MANDATORY Parent Meeting will be Thursday, April 19th at 9am in our classroom. We will have a presentation by Covenant Community Care (a community service that provides dental services and education) and well as exploring the nutrition program we recently began in our classroom titles “Regie’s Rainbow Adventure.
Have a great week!

Hello families!
Thank you Rana Zeineddine (Maya’s mom) for being our guest reader Thursday morning!
The children have really been enjoying March is Reading Month and listening to all of the stories shared by our guest readers. If you would like to be a guest reader there is still time! I have openings next week at drop-off and pick-up time, so check the schedule next to the sign-in sheet to see if there is a time that works for you.
We launched Work Work in our classroom this week during Daily 5 time. During this part of our day children work independently while focusing on letter recognition and building familiar words such as the names of friends and family or areas/materials in our classroom.
To begin children choose one of four centers in our classroom; wiki stick names, building letters, playdoh and letter stamps, and writing the room.
The children are then free to move to their center and begin working on the lesson of the day.
Writing letter and names using wiki sticks and name tags.
Building letters on the carpet using straight and curved lines.
Using stamps to write words in playdoh.
Writing around the room using clip boards and posters hung around the classroom.
