Hello families!
I have updated three pages on our blog. You can now find the district calendar on the 2018-2019 district calendar page. All conference appointment times have been added to the conference page, and I have included a brief description of what we are during this week during Daily 5 along with some pictures on the Daily 5 page.
If your conference appointment is tomorrow I have included a reminder in your child’s folder. The list can also be found outside our door as well as on the conference page at the top of the blog.
Have a great afternoon!

Hello families!
This week we focused on math and science skills while exploring pumpkins. The children made predictions about the circumference of their pumpkins (how far around) with string and then tested their ideas by comparing them to the size. The next day we measured our pumpkins using unifix cubes and counted how many cubes high each pumpkin was. Lastly, the children created hypotheses (guesses) about what was inside of their pumpkins and then opened them to see if they were correct.

Hello Families!
This week Daily Five bags were sent home in your child’s backpack. These are books that students have chosen and are reading during Read to Self in the afternoon. Please read these books together over the weekend and return the bags to school on Monday.
Thank you so much for joining us at our monthly parent meeting last week. We talked about the importance of independence and practiced self-help skills such as opening snack/cereal, putting on/zipping coats, and writing names.
This week during small group time we focused on the math concepts of sorting and patterning. Child were given various toys such as; counting bears, links, unifix cubes, and letter cubes. They worked individually and in groups to create patterns and groupings by size, shape, and/or color.
A few reminders for next week:
- Check your child’s folder every night.
- Please return daily 5 bags to school on Monday.
- As soon as you have snow clothes for your child you may send them to school. Some examples are; snow jacket, snow pants, snow boots, hat, snow gloves.
Have a great weekend!
